Who Dey, Who Dog!
On Sunday, Camp Becky went on an outing to tailgate at the Bengals – Bears football game. Andy was the camper-in-residence – of course, I would insist on taking the most skittish and paranoid of all the campers to a parking lot full of drunk, loud football fans.
We got ready to go at about 11am in order to meet Aunt Sarah at 11:30am downtown. Andy knew something crazy was going to happen when I decided that he needed to “gear up”. I decided that the frilly orange scarf was the best way to accent Andy’s shiny black coat. Andy didn’t agree.

“Becky…? What is this? I’m scared.”
We drove downtown and met up with Aunt Sarah, Thurber‘s Mom. Andy was extremely scared of all the noises, scenery and people in downtown Cincinnati. We did have to pit-stop at an ATM, and the most excitement Andy showed was in waiting for Aunt Sarah to return.

After the pit-stop, we headed down to Longworth Hall to meet up with the Bengal’s Tornado crew (seen here, earlier in the season)
Upon making our way to the hub of the action, Andy immediately became wildly popular. Not many people bring dogs to tailgate as most people go to the games, so seeing a pooch was quite a novelty – especially a pooch as on-equity and spirited as Andy Pants.
Everyone wanted to take his picture, including the Miller Girls (keep your eye out for the spread in CityBeat) and 700 WLW (check out the gallery).
I’ll be honest, A-Pants was pretty overwhelmed the almost the entire time.
He was confused by the beer pong:

And there were so many people!

He was just a little unsure about the whole thing.

“Becky? Seriously?”

BUT then…
Andy learned the true essence of tailgating…

BEER!
After consuming that glorious concoction of barley and hops, Andy’s paranoia disappeared. He chased footballs, he wagged his tail, he made new friends!

Safe to say, Andy got drunk, ladies and gentlemen. That’s right. Andy got drunk tailgating.
And the ride home was a little rough.

Update: Andy has been hungover all day. Whoops. Sorry, Andy.
